The Antidote To Valentine’s Day

Christian Singles

If you’re still paying for Christmas then you’ll be overjoyed to be reminded that Valentine’s Day is almost here. And that marketing event ain’t cheap neither, the average American spends $160 on gifts for their partners and family, not a whole lot less than Christmas.

You could try to do things on the cheap, yeah, right, if you fancy being single on the fifteenth! However, you could do things that will keep the costs down by stealth, making a card yourself rather than sending an overprices tacky missive from a high street stationer says that you’re thinking of her; baking a cake instead of buying one off the supermarket shelf says you like to do things for him.

You can dip your own strawberries in melted chocolate, that often leads to other things and it’s cheaper than a huge box of chocolates that you present her with only to be accused of “trying to make her fat.”

How about taking care of business yourself with a home vajazzling kit? That’s an awesome surprise and much cheaper than getting it done professionally.

If you’re single at the moment then you’re probably sick of it all before it’s even begun, going out this weekend is going to be a chore with all those smug couples staring longingly into one another’s eyes, smooch induced nausea! So, if you don’t feel you’d be responsible for your own actions out on the streets then how about holding your own anti-Valentines day party? Make it themed and it could be a scream.

How about a Gangsters and Molls themed cocktail party? Or invite a few of your single crew over and have a night of slasher movies and beer? You could invite everyone over and indulge in a bit of speed hating. Speed dating’s been done to death, speed hating involves getting together and having a really good moan about your job, the government, taxes, you get it, just rag on everything that’s getting you ripping for a few hours.

If you’re a single girl and you’re not looking to get tied down then how about treating yourself to a day of mani pedis and massage? Get a facial and a new ‘do. Do it for yourself sister!

If you’re a single guy you might like a mani pedi and massage but how about sending a card to your dear old mum, tell her how much you appreciate her and that you love her dearly. She might think you’ve flipped but it’s good to tell her every now and again, no matter how old you’re getting.

Another thing a guy might do is send flowers to one of his single lady friends. I don’t mean all creepy weird stalkery but just a few flowers (Not a single red rose!) to some-one who might appreciate the thought right about now. And you never know, she might have a sister…

Dan Cash will be sobbing bitter tears as he microwaves his romantic ready meal for one on Valentine’s Day.

The Top Three Places To Meet Guys

Christian Singles

OK, I know how it is. You’re single and want a partner. All you can think about every night is how you can get a boyfriend fast, and the thought simply won’t shake. Being single certainly does have it’s benefits. You don’t have to answer to any one other then yourself, you can do what you want when you want, and you have the opportunity to talk to a whole heap of other men. But there comes a point in every girl’s life where it’s just best to get in a relationship. We as humans are made to want affection after all.

Some women however don’t know where to meet guys, so I thought I’d let you in on my top three places to meet a guy. Counting down from three to one, they are:

Number Three: At Speed Dating
Speed dating, this has to be one of the most fun ways to meet guys. You’re in a room with say about thirty guys, and you get to meet them all for about a minuet or two. At the end, you let the host know who you like, and if tyhey also selected they liked you then you can swap numbers or any other communication method you so choose. Speed dating can be great fun when you go with a single friend or two, the only reason why this wasn’t higher up on the list is because speed dating events aren’t on all the time. If you go once you’re probably waiting another month till you can go again.

Number Two: Online
Online dating is great because you can meet loads of guys every day. What more could you ask for? My personal favorite dating website is eHarmony. It’s unlike other dating sites as instead of going through everyone’s profile yourself and choosing based on what they write, you’re giving a questionnaire which learns the real you (And the other people) and they make picks for you based on what you said in your answers. This means you’re more likely to meet someone you really get along with. Nice…

Number One: At A Bar
And the best place to meet guys, the good old fashioned bar. This wins over online dating because you get to instantly meet these people face to face so you get a better idea of what they’re about. Sometimes you just can’t beat the original ways.

Now you know, good luck in finding your man.

Patti Stanger of The Millionaire Matchmaker

According to the Examiner.com, Patti Stanger was recently at a speed dating event in Los Angeles and provided some helpful tips for those in attendance about meeting singles online and online dating. Stanger is the host of the popular network television program The Millionaire Matchmaker in addition to being the author of ‘Become your own matchmaker” and a celebrity host on XM Radio.

Her tips for the speed daters after listening in on some of the conversations included “Don’t tell your life story, Get to the point.” and “Let the men do the work.” She also provided tips to the Examiner.com team prior to the speed dating event. These tips included “Never go past two drinks on a date.” and “Don’t talk about the ex.”. No one wants to know about your last relationship unless they ask and then they still probably don’t want to know too much.

Finally there was a list of people to avoid that she shared which ranged from “Toxic People” and “Alcoholics” to “Addicts” and the “Fixers”. Your interruption is required on some of her personality descriptions. I think we will get more good advice from Stanger in the coming weeks as her book goes to paperback at the end of the month.

Online Speed Dating, Seriously

Online Speed Dating, Seriously

Some dating sites are now adding the feature of online speed dating to the mix of services they offer their members. In addition to the traditional profile creation and browsing, sites are offering a mix of video, instant message, and voice to allow members to meet one another online in a speed dating fashion.

Meet 12 single adults during a predefined hour of turbo dating with many 5 minute online dates. This new feature is taking off and creates a very casual atmosphere that is more fun than the traditional online dating services. Registration is often free for this service and is bundled with other services the site provides.

In addition you will be allowed to select a specific channel which connects you with only a certain kind of date during your speed dating hour. This allows online speed dating to be more beneficial than speed dating exercises that occur in person. And after the speed dating session has ended, members can connect in other forms of interaction online including chat and email or take the next step to an in-person meeting.
